This series of two interactive study modules (approx. 1.5 hours completion time) with multiple-choice assessment is adapted from Dr Susan Tawia's presentation at the 2021 Health Professional Seminar Series, ‘Continence support for pregnant and breastfeeding women’.

Modules feature video recordings of Dr Tawia's presentation, alongside additional engaging activities and resources to extend your learning.

Learning outcomes:

  • Develop an understanding of the prevalence of incontinence in Australia
  • Develop an understanding of the risk factors and preventative measures for urinary and faecal incontinence during pregnancy 
  • Develop practical skills to support clients experiencing incontinence, including where to seek help and how to facilitate access to continence support services   
  • Develop an understanding of the short- and long-term effects of breastfeeding on continence
